Overview

Robertson Lodges

Robertson lodges is one of the top providers of luxury accommodation in New Zealand offering a trio of stunning landscapes. These are The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs, The Farm at Cape Kidnappers and Matakauri Lodge. The properties form a string of luxurious destinations spanning the length of New Zealand, each distinct and authentic to the region they inhabit.

The business is family owned and operated by the Robertson Family since 1995.  Julian Robertson travelled to New Zealand in 1995 to acquire a working sheep farm near the Bay of Islands on the North Island and since then, the Robertson’s passion and love for New Zealand led to opening the Kauri Cliffs Lodge with championship golf course. The gold course is designed by David Harman, marking the family’s first foray into the luxury hospitality industry. Within a year, the lodge would be named among the top resorts in the world by premier publications such as Andrew Harper, Conde Nast Traveler, Golf Digest, Tatler Magazine and Travel + Leisure.

Continuing the family’s passion and interest in New Zealand, they acquired and opened Cape Kidnappers in Hawke’s Bay on the east coast of the North Island. This property features a championship golf course, designed by Tom Doak. Followed by launching Matakauri Lodge in the adventure capital Queenstown, on the South Island.

  • We used Cape Kidnappers in Hawkes Bay for a client incentive and the lodge is exceptional both in location, quality and service.   Well known for its famous golf course - the lodge provided a great base to discover the local district which included some of the best wineries NZ is famous for. Cape Kidnappers is a six star experience and we would have no hesitation in recommending it!
