Over 100 people took a seat at Oakridge Wines’ Regional Longest Lunch on Friday 16 March, as part of one of the world’s greatest food and wine events – the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival.
The lunch was a celebration of the Yarra Valley’s local produce and producers, with guests treated to four courses of beautiful, seasonal, sustainably sourced Autumnal food, designed by co-executive Chefs Matt Stone and Jo Barrett, and matched wines from chief winemaker, David Bicknell.
The event made the most of the winery’s sprawling lawns, multi-functional dining room overlooking the 864 vineyard and its two sunlit patio areas – one with family-friendly chess board and petanque facilities.
Guests were invited to enjoy all the winery had to offer, from a tour of the winemaking facilities and even stomping and stirring the fermenting grapes, to relaxing in the sunshine on the balcony overlooking the 964 vineyards.
The day was a premium display of the style of event available at the winery, that in 2017 was regaled with one Good Food Guide Hat, Gourmet Traveller WINE’s 2017 Winemaker of the Year Award, and Halliday’s Top 10 Best Value Wineries, amongst many other achievements.
