| Fusion News - September/October 2009 The green ‘shoots’ of recovery seem to be emerging...albeit cautiously. And with it there are signs that staff may also seek greener pastures and opportunities unless they are rewarded and recognised for their efforts over a turbulent year. Now is the time to increase focus on your staff with conferences or individual travel incentives. We also have five double movie tickets, thanks to Palace Cinemas to reward our clients for any proposals requested - first in first serve. The Fusion Team |

Conference familiarisation to The Byron at Byron Resort Last month, 9 conference organisations from Melbourne, partners and Mary-Jane Devine from Fusion Marketing, embarked on a two-day familiarisation of The Byron at Byron Resort and Byron Bay region. Meeting other conference organisers from Sydney and Brisbane, delegates were welcomed by The Byron at Byron Resort 'rainforest wall' on arrival at the resort reception. After a wander through the ancient rainforest and welcome drinks and canapes in the 'Lotus Gardens', guests were treated to a sumptuous lunch featuring the local produce that makes Byron Bay a 'foodie' mecca. To walk off lunch, we toured the accommodation deluxe spa and superior suites, comprising of 92 rooms as well as the state-of-the-art conference facilities for up to 180 delegates. Everyone then indulged in spa treatments experiencing the award winning spa, melting away any excess city stresses already dissipated. Launching into a choice of activities, guests tried their hand at art classes, golf, Bangalow Cooking School, circus training and a tour of Crystal Castle ideal for team building activities and provided some tall tales for dinner. Offsite Connections themed the dinner in gorgeous red hues coupled with abundant roses and candles to experience a dinner of locally sourced and grown produce that Byron Bay region is so renowned for. The next morning, some guests ambled on Tallow Beach looking for the first signs of whales migrating north for the winter and frolicking dolphins - being only a 10 minute walk from the resort. The delegates were invited to experience a relaxed style 'exhibition' of Byron Bay regional conference suppliers gaining a first-hand experience of the activities their delegates could experience. From Byron Bay Circus School, Byron Bay Cookie Company, surfing, kayaking, hot air ballooning, Corporate Art, Bangalow Cooking School, Byron Bay Farmers Market - the choices were abundant. Finally, time to head home with a taste of Byron Bay and The Byron at Byron Resort to take home only to make plans to return soon. |
